“Honey, can I share with your popularity?”

Question:          Love and Politics – and since when had these two words create such great harmony and benefit?

Answer:            Since the POLITICAL TANDEM buzz paved its quintessence in getting votes. (tested and proven, sort of)

It may sound odd or perhaps devoid out of rhyme in this column a writer wishes to unravel but time itself clearly states hypocrisy is slowly conquering the minds of those wretched public icons, or personalities per se just being used by those so-called predators who only take advantage of their cited ill-fated preys.

            Taking a peek back on the elections which transcribed 3 years ago, I found not the raging platforms presented by the politicians with all their politicking, or the choreography of their top-rating Miting de Avance, or their ala-Marc Anthony political Speech they tatter on stage, or the crowd they are able to gather.  Rather, I have noted their POLITICAL PARTNER (or is it their inspiration? or their lucky charm? As to how they try to explicitly show) sitting right beside them or perhaps, holding their hand and raising it up while shouting “Vote for me!” –with the “celebrity” giving a forced cute smile plus, the pathetic nodding (opinion based).

The above mentioned scenario which is strategically used by the politicians seem to get into my nerves.  I prudently know I hold no right to judge them on how true or how deep their feelings are.  But assessing the value of their actions shown to the public with the “holding hands” and the “Will you marry me?” on national television seem to boggle my mind on the level of genuineness one politician gives.  Were they really in-love? Or do they really want to marry “that” prey? I doubt.

I do not intend to scare our public icons from falling in love (to politicians, specifically). Loving is all good. I tell you.  But it has to be taken not as an antidote to ones broken heart (or a pain reliever at that) which only seizes the pain for a while, then after a few hours, it hits u back like a jolt of lightning again, or a show-off to the whole nation that “Hey! This person is with me. I am sharing with the fame she has, if you love her, love me too. So please vote for me.” (duh!) The head is placed above the heart so it denotes its utilization above the latter.  One must avoid itself from being deceived with ones real intention.  Take time to listen not only to what your involuntary muscle is trying to imply, but try to consider the pulse of the masses, the opinions of the people around you. Sometimes, people are blinded with their emotions because they are prudently intoxicated with it, the shallow deeds are the one taken, and the supposed to be “regrettable ones” (which are only noticed by those who care about you) are being disregarded.  But remember, regrets come in the end. And with it, there’s no turning back. You can never cry over spilled milk.

            Ponder on this article for a while, ask your partner, hear your friends’ opinions. Ask this to yourself, “Am I really loved? Or am I just a face in a sample ballot?”

Sore Vexed Soul

Rebuke me not in thine anger,

neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

Have mercy upon me; for I AM WEAK:

HEAL ME; for mah bones are vexed.

My soul is also sore vexed:

But thou, how long?
Return, O please, deliver my soul:

Oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.

For in death there is no remembrance of Thee:

In Grave, who shall give Thee thanks?

I AM WEARY with my groaning;

all the night make I in my bed to swim;

I water my couch with TEARS.

Mine eye is consumed because of grief;

It waxeth old because of all mine enemies.

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity;

For to all, Thee hath heard the voice of my weeping.

Thee hath heard mah supplication;

He will receive mah prayer.

Let all mine enemies be ashamed & sore vexed:

Let them return & be ashamed suddenly.

Forgetful Lucy
Adam Sandler

The Hukilau was the place
Where I first saw your face
We liked each other right away
But you didn’t remember me the very next day
Forgetful Lucy
Has got a nice caboosie

I used to trick you into pulling your car over
so we could chat
But my favorite time was when you beat
the shit out of Ula with a bat
And we drove up to see Dr. Keats
And found out why Doug always
has to change his sheets

Forgetful Lucy
Cracked her head like Carrie Busie
But I still love her so
And I’ll never let her go
Even if while I’m singing this song
She’s wishing I had Jacquo the walrus’ schlong
Forgetful LucyHer lips are so damn juicy
How about another first kiss?

How many Rabbits do you see on the
Aisle of View, mahal ko?
